Team - Coldwell Banker Rhodes & Company
While it might be nice to know how many homes we sell in a year or how many sales representatives we have across the country–are these the numbers that really matter?
At Coldwell Banker Rhodes & Company, we believe the most meaningful indicator of any real estate company’s performance is customer satisfaction. If the quality of our service ultimately leads to your satisfaction–100% satisfaction--then we will have accomplished what we set out to do. Isn’t that really the only measurement that matters to you, too?
How does a real estate company flourish in an unstable market? Ask Ned Rhodes, whose father founded Rhodes Real Estate in 1940. He’ll tell you that you need to keep abreast of new technology, attract and recruit top-notch sales representatives and stay involved in your business community. In 1988 Rhodes saw a need for change. In order to survive in a very competitive market and to give the company a new approach, a partnership was formed.
Rhodes and Company Ltd. was developed to include 3 new partners; Jim McKeown, Gary Greenwood, and Ross Heuchan. This expanded company was able to attract and recruit new agents, which is a critical part of the real estate business.
The Rhodes family has grown dramatically in the last 8 years. Their amalgamation with Coldwell Banker in 1995 produced Coldwell Banker Rhodes & Company, increasing their sales force from 25 to 40. Sales have more than doubled in the last few years, with Coldwell Banker Rhodes selling more than 800 homes in the last year alone.
Coldwell Banker Rhodes has made a point of staying abreast of technological change. With online connections to the Real Estate Board’s Multi Listing Service (MLS), a database of real estate listings in the Ottawa area, sales representatives are able to provide their clients with the most up to date information available. Access to the Internet allows details to be communicated as quickly as possible, making sure their clients know what’s going on a soon as possible.
Part of Rhodes’ success can be attributed to a team approach and a strong client focus. Their weekly sales meetings attract guest speakers from the business community, brainstorming amongst the sales staff and an on-site tour of new listings by all the agents. There are 40 sales representatives and 7 support staff, who, whether they are working with a buyer or seller, can count on the whole team’s input in the sales process.
Rhodes and his partners are excited about the future of the Ottawa real estate market and intend to grow their company by following a simple philosophy. Work hard, be innovative, network all the time and above all, employ only the best staff.
